Short description of towns in the Aveyron

Belcastel (distance approx 25 mins)
This is one of the most beautiful villages of France.
You can visit the castle or follow a beautiful 3 hours circular walk.

Visit the beautiful fortress of Najac (around 4 euros for a guided tour) or enjoy the.

Conques (distance approx 50 mins)
This is a Pilgrame town with amazing roman .

Rodez (distance approx 40 mins)
Capital of the Aveyron.

Villefranche-de-Rouergue (distance approx 15 mins)
This is an ancien town with all facilities such as a station, supermarktes, restaurants and terraces.
Every Thursday there is a colorful market that snakes it way through the town.
In this market you can find many regional products.




Peyrusse le Roc (distance approx 20 mins)
In this village you will find a castle ruins from the Roman era.
It was built in761. At time it was famous for silver, lead and the mines.
In 1163, it was held by the Britisch and later freed by Simon de Montfort.

The castle has been on the monuments list since 1995.
You can make a beautiful tour of 2 hours.

Brandonnet (distance approx 5 mins)
From La Persienne Bleue you can walk to the river Aveyron and le Pont du Cayla (photo).
Duration approx 4 hours.
This is a beautiful place were you can walk, swim and enjoy nature.

Markett

Every Thursday you can visit the market of Villefranche-de-Rouergue 12 km away. It is a colourful market meandering through the historic inner city. On the market you can find a lot of regional products. Other markets can be found in Rignac (16 km Tuesdays) and St Antonin-de-Noble Val (50 km Sundays). The villages  Najac, Cordes sur ciel, Albi andRodez are also worth visiting.
